The software and drivers for the new Mac OS 10.7 “Lion” is now available for download from the Dymo Label Printer website. This is the link to the driver download page:

Dymo have now released 99010 Jumbo Rolls, which have a whopping 1050 labels per roll – and are supplied in a box of 2 rolls – so that’s 2,100 labels per box!  Compare that to the standard 99010 labels which have 2 rolls of 130 labels per box (260/box).

The good news is these are priced around £26.99/box vs approx £7.41/box for the 99010′s.   That gives a per label cost of 1.3p/label vs 2.9p/label – less than half the price…

The only downside is that these High Yield “Jumbo Rolls” only fit the Labelwriter 4XL extra wide printer, not the LW450, Turbo, Twin or DUO.  That’s is because in order to squeeze as many labels onto the rolls as possible the labels have been put in landscape orientation (ie. sideways), and therefore the roll is too wide to fit the standard printers.

One more thing, you will need to update your Dymo Label Software (if you use it) to the latest version so it can recognise the new label.

The new rolls have the p/n S0947410 and are limited to a small number of suppliers only.

When you buy 12 packs of 99012 large address labels from Dymo and use the coupon code LW450FREE on the website you will get a Dymo LabelWriter 450 absolutely FREE. And you’ll get it with your order (ie. no need to register for a claim and send off ‘proof of posting’ and all that nonsense).

To get the free Label Writer follow these instructions:

  1. Add the 12 (or more) 99012 labels to your basket
  2. Enter the code LW450FREE in the coupon code box on the basket page (press ‘update’)
  3. A message will appear saying “Get a LabelWriter 450 free by adding it to the cart”
  4. Click on the link in the message
  5. The labelwriter will be added to the basket, and you will not be charged for it.
  6. Proceed with your order

Wow, custom Dymo labels – how long have we been waiting for these? Seems like years. No wait, it has been years. But better late than never…

Finally, within a couple of months, we should be able to get genuine Dymo Labelwriter labels with full colour pre-printing. Want your company logo on your labels? In full Colour? Maybe even a custom size label?

It should all be possible soon – though at a cost. There’ll be a fee for setting up the template (which can be reused if you order again), and the labels will obviously cost more than blank ones. If you want a custom size of label – something that’s not been possible with the labelwriter printers previously – then there will be an initial one-off tooling cost for the thingamybob that cuts the labels.

It’s also anticipated that the lead time will be 2 months initially. If you have any interest in these send an email to the helpful folks at Dymo Label Printers.

Dymo King has learned that very shortly the following new label types will be available for the Dymo Labelwriter range -

Polypropelene labels (ie. water resistant – by popular demand!)

High Yield labels – these will be the popular 99012 and 99014 labels, but with many more on the roll giving better value for money and fewer roll changes. The bad news is this is acheived by rotating the labels into landscape rather than portrait format, which means… think about it… they will be too wide to fit the output slot of the standard printers. So the Hi-Yield labels will only fit the extra wide Labelwriter 4XL printer. So “bummer” if you already have an LW450/Turbo/Twin/Duo (or earlier), “Yay” if you have a 4XL already, and “oh well it might be worth the extra to go for the wide version after all” if you are still deciding…

There’s also a super secret label – but we can’t tell you about that…

This weekend sees the long awaited return of the very popular ‘Free Starter Kit’ promotion on the Dymo LabelWriter 450.  Rumours were that the promo was “never to return” as Dymo had discontinued the Starter kits.

However, we can reveal that the offer is back, exclusively at Office Ninja – the Office Supplies SuperStore!  Apparently someone somewhere still had some stock and the offer is back on.

So while stocks last, you can get a free Labelwriter Starter Kit with every Dymo LabelWriter 450.

New for 2011, the Dymo S0929120 Square Multipurpose Labels are the latest addition to the Labelwriter range.  The labels are square (25x25mm) and have removable adhesive.

As a new label it has the unwieldy new style of part codes “S0929120″ rather than the old legacy 99xxx or 11xxx codes which were much easier to remember!

Another popular request from customers –  The Dymo S0929100 is a roll of 300 appointment/name badge/business card labels made of thin non-adhesive card.  Supplied on a roll and separated by perforations these can be used as appointment cards or even business cards (though they are thinner than standard business cards and of course have the Dymo black marks on the back)

By popular demand Dymo have finally released some new non-adhesive cards.  The Dymo S0929110 is a roll of 250 large name badge labels made of thin non-adhesive card.  The 62x106mm name badges also have a cut out slot to hang them from a name badge tag or laniard.

More new to follow shortly on the other two new entries to the Labelwriter range.
